Curator’s Statement

Joost Bosland graduated from Duke University in 2006, and is a director at Michael Stevenson in Cape Town.  At the gallery he has curated 'Distant Relatives/Relative Distance' in 2006, 'Disguise: The art of attracting and deflecting attention' in 2008, and he is responsible for the gallery's ongoing 'Side Gallery' project series for young artists.  Forthcoming shows are 'This is our time' at Michael Stevenson in June 2010, 'The moment' at the Fountainhead Residency, Miami in March 2010, and 'The Horizon of Reason' at various municipal spaces in Bruges in April 2010.  He is allergic to dust mites and cynicism.
