Artist's Statement

Industry pushes us to purchase products that are based on linear design. We purchase, use, and throw things away, never thinking of the items again. Looking at this linear production, I have been collecting industrial and post consumer packaging that has been discarded in this process, which becomes the building blocks of my sculptures. This material, disregarded by many, has its own history of travel from factory to store, being created to be thrown away. I highlight the inherent value, leaving traces of what was, transforming the material into something new, playful, and add value to the material through my hands.
