Artist’s Statement

As a documentary photographer I have specialized in shooting art in the context of everyday life for over thirty years. My subject matter includes anything made or decorated by hand such as painted signs on shop fronts, customized clothing, air brushed vehicles or graffiti and street art murals.  I'm particularly interested in capturing images of the creative use of public space and the creators at work. Since these site specific works are often ephemeral, the photos become a form of historic preservation.
