Artist's Statement

Ofra Lapid is a photographer currently based in NYC. Her works are a visual and conceptual inquiry of domestic and other architectural forms that shape the way she perceives the world. What is seen in her works is purposefully deceiving: by appropriating found imagery and superimposing photography onto small-scale models, she creates sets for the camera, which put to play the immanent flatness of a photo and question the imageability of the structures that surrounds us.
