ARTIST to ARTIST, a new series featuring artists presenting their unique paths to success. Octavia Yearwood is an artist, programmatic curator, and author. Yearwood creates and hosts programs for arts institutions, organizations, and companies nationally. Over the last 15 years, aside from being an arts educator, Yearwood was a 2019 Ellie Awardee, and the Memorial Day weekend producer and curator of Arts & Culture for the city of Miami Beach. In 2018 she was the Director of the FREE! Art Fair during Art Basel Miami Beach and named “Best Author in Miami” by the Miami New Times. Yearwood was recognized as an Emerging Arts Leader by Americans for the Arts and top 40 black leaders by Legacy magazine in 2016. She continues to focus on diversifying and transforming creative spaces and sits on the Member's Committee for the Soho Beach House, on the Board for the Baller Alert Foundation, and is on the Advisory Board for Power U.
