Artist's Statement 

My work process has been derived from my personal biography, and more specifically my experience of immigration.

 In a metaphorical sense, domestic and exterior space, architecture and relationship to plant life, all express collective cultural values.  

I examine my space as an analogy for merging of cultures and the tensions between them.

I look at the aesthetic taste codes that underpin our environments and explore the cultural, economic and political structures through which they had been formed.

I try to create layered hybrid images that examine multiple points of view.

In my work I also aspire to challenge the medium of photography, question its capacity to mediate reality, and intervene in its representation using manual and digital tools.
