Artist Statement
The starting point of my videos and video installations lies in the precise observations of our surroundings and an intuitive feeling for those moments that are simultaneously banal and surreal. Those moments that hold a certain sincerity while displaying a strong atmospheric potential. My interest is the remnant, the negligible, the gaps in our (constructed) surroundings, the crumbling stucco, the poetry of the patina, the leftovers of a party. The photographed or filmed situations or places serve as the basis for my work, I edit, animate or combine them with materials producing installations. In this way I give life to something lifeless and thereby create enticing illusory worlds
