Artist Statement

Born in 1967 in Caracas, Venezuela, he currently lives and works in São Paolo, Brazil. Hinged between the poetic and the political, his juxtapositions of images and objects question how people cope with economic and social exclusion in different environments. He has been interested in the Latin American Modernist Movement’s often un-acknowledged debt to vernacular world architecture.

Recent exhibitions include: Solo exhibition, von Bartha Basel, Basel (2017); Down The Line, Johannes Vogt gallery, New York; Good News, Josee Bienvenu Gallery, New York; Informal Order, SITU project, Galeria Leme, São Paulo (2016); A historia da imagem, curated by Leda Catunda, SIM Galeria, Curitiba; Monochrome Undone, SPACE, Sayago & Pardon Collection, Irvine, California; Not Much Further, Arroniz Arte Contemporáneo.
